If you want to see one of Lincoln's oldest terminal elevators, time will be drawing short. Built by C-G-F Grain in 58-59, Has been owned by Cargil, ICI, and most recently Hansen Mueller which sold it in April.

There was a truck and some hoppers at the elevator rather recently. But this elevator doesn't have enough tracks in its railyard to hold a unit train.

ADM

In contrast, ADM has enough tracks in its railyard to allow it to handle a unit train without any help from BNSF.

While checking out the ADM elevator, I noticed that there is already a lot of vacant land a little west of the abandoned grain elevator. Does the new owner want land that is served by rail?

Some of that vacant land used to be the state fairgrounds.
