The through route is now owned by the BNSF and Dakota and Iowa (DAIR) operates the branch line.

The grain elevator's website has a couple of graphics I've never seen before. I wonder if these percentages are good or bad compared to other years. Given the flooding that has occured this year in South Dakota and Iowa, I'm surprised that they are better than Illinois and Indiana.

  1. The short elevator was built by Younglove & Boggess Co. of Mason City, IA. It is the only known work by the company in South Dakota.

    1. Thank you for your work of documenting the wood grain elevators. I never realized that there were so many still standing in the plains states.
