Grain Elevator Photography Trip, 2024- Day 1, South Dakota.
Elk Point, Union County, SD.
Crill Grain Co. Left (short) headhouse built in 1903. 30,000-bushel capacity. Right (tall) headhouse built in an unknown year. Looks to be a work by T. E. Ibberson Co. Annex built in an unknown year.

The through route is now owned by the BNSF and
Dakota and Iowa (DAIR) operates the branch line.
The grain elevator's website has a couple of graphics I've never seen before. I wonder if these percentages are good or bad compared to other years. Given the flooding that has occured this year in South Dakota and Iowa, I'm surprised that they are better than Illinois and Indiana.

The short elevator was built by Younglove & Boggess Co. of Mason City, IA. It is the only known work by the company in South Dakota.
