TP&W has expanded to include this route.
Joseph Tuch Santucci posted Train 255 on Sunday morning, 25 August 2024. The very last RoadRailer to ever run as it passed the crossing of the TP&W at Clymers, IN. |
Joseph Tuch Santucci posted The sun was setting on us in Clymers, IN this evening as well as setting on the final run of RoadRailers train number 256, the eastward journey of this train. When it arrives in Oakwood, MI tonight after midnight, this schedule of this train is history. The final run ever of the train, the westbound leg of this train, number 255 will also be history and close out the history of RoadRailers on the rails after a thirty-eight year run. The train was running well behind its normal running time as it was following a big, long mixed freight who also had work to do en route. So much for the joke that is “precision scheduled railroading.” Having worked under PSR for the guy who created it, I already knew it was a joke and again this week, it was proven here. It was even later than the train I saw last week in Lafayette. This is why it was running slow through here this evening. He was “on the block” of the train ahead, running on yellow (approach) signals. The engineer was running slow enough so the next signal they encounter will clear up from stop (red) to approach (yellow) by the time they arrive there. Clymers was a busy place today as we saw six trains through including multiple meets between east and westbound trains. here in addition to 256. 24 August 2024 [That is the Nickel Plate Heritage unit. I guess NS has yet to paint a Wabash unit.] |
