The rotor was replaced in 2015 to increase shaft output by about 14%.

The EPA forced them to close their ash pond and create new disposal facilities. [AlliantEnergy, kyotv]

And they put more money into the plant in 2024.

Was out for a drive in south-central Iowa last night, and had to grab a shot of Alliant Energy's Ottumwa Generating Station in Chillicothe, Iowa. I'm an engineer for BNSF, and have been fortunate enough to bring many coal trains here for unloading. Always cool to see them dump the cars in the dumper.
